Japan Society
New York’s Japan Society will be holding an exhibition of sculptural bamboo art that will run between October 4th and January 11th.

Over the past few years, Japanese bamboo artists have reached beyond the established boundaries of their craft. New Bamboo is the world’s first exhibition devoted exclusively to Japanese bamboo as a sculptural medium, featuring 23 innovators, old and young, who explore to the full the tension between traditional skill and new expressive opportunities. Ranging from ethereal, computer-designed filigrees, through dramatic wall pieces to angry-looking, dirt-encrusted tangles and anthropomorphic, sexually charged sculptures, the more than 90 works on display demonstrate awesome technique, meticulous attention to detail and extraordinary creativity.

Vintage and modern Ferrari projects Influence my design…
it’s a mix of what I find to be the best Ferrari lines with the
latest technology I could think of in terms of engine, gear
and driving management,
Preserving Ferrari lines and history, to create a normal
dimensions bike and to use Ferrari existing technology,
to take the ease of serve as a factor while thinking about
low profile and CG. but in any case to produce a practical
machine and not in any way a "star wars" future ride
This is a V4 engine based on the Ferrari Enzo Block shape
the oil sump was moved forward as separated oil tank while
the engine lower case reshaped to a mono block gearbox
that support the swing arm radial movements, hydraulic
engine unit supply pressure for smart shock damping
system and clutch, the engine is both air - water cooled
the lower fins was taken from traditional Ferrari engines
and seamlessly blends with the bottom of fairing to form
a major heat exchange surface at the bottom of the bike

Alphabet Modular Sofa: Designed by Piero Lissoni
Denmark based furniture manufacturer Fritz Hansen has introduced the Alphabet modular sofa into their 2008 Autumn/Winter Collection.
The sofa, designed by Piero Lissoni, is inspired by toy Lego bricks, and consists of a series of ’soft building blocks’ enabling you to build and create your own sofa design. Piero Lissoni, an Italian architect and designer, describes the concept as something similar to that of the alphabet. “All the elements of the sofa are like letters and you are free to create your own words.” There are 4 modular elements to the sofa; the seat, backrest, armrest and cushions. The elements can be put together in an endless variety of combinations and angles and is available in leather or fabric upholstery.

New Lamborghini . . . Details Coming Soon
On October 1st, Lamborghini will be unveiling a new model at the Paris Motor Show. To build hype behind the launch, Lamborghini has released two teaser images of the its exotic, which the company claims is “not just a new Lamborghini. It’s a new world.” The most recently released image, pictured above, shows off a nationalistic fender vent and carbon fiber front splitter. Hint: look closely.
After the jump, you’ll see an aggressive central exhaust system matched with carbon fiber accents and subtle grillework. Industry speculation indicates that the new Lambo will be a front-engined four door, marking two new additions to the car maker’s traditionally two-door/middle-of-the-car-engined lineup.

Eric Elms x Aaron Rose x Beautiful Losers
10 days of sewing, painting and building can certainly garner the attention of many, especially when it’s a giant zipper stretching across the room. With some help from friends, Eric Elms produced this installation for Aaron Rose and Beautiful Losers at the Nike 255 Elizabeth space in Manhattan. With a flurry of color, over-sized props and brilliant ideas, the space certainly came to life.

Providing daily essentials for the everyday man, nonnative gives us a look into some of their new releases for this fall/winter season. Working with Argentine brand El Resero, known for their superb custom work, nonnative adds a pair of finely crafted alpine boots to their arsenal. Within the drop, the Japanese label releases a multi layer border long sleeve and very well crafted herringbone wool duffel coat as well.

Controversy or Truth? Diary of a Tired Black Man
This one is going to cause a TON of controversy, arguments, and a few brothas will be sleeping on the couch for commenting wrong on this topic, but I had to go into it. Questions: Is the black woman too demanding? Does she not bring enough to the table, but want the world? Is her baggage too damn much? Does the influence of her no-man having, horrible weaved homegirls cause drama in your house? Are you tired of her finger-snapping, neck rolling attitude? If so, there is a movie coming out for you.
Don't get the game messed up, I have 2 sides on this topic and I will go into both of them. First and foremost, I LOVE BLACK WOMEN. Everything about the intrigues me and attracts me at the same time. I feel that black women have been abused, disrespected, and objectified over the years, so sistas, I feel your pain. On the other hand, too many sistas blame good brothas for their PAST baggage. Too many times "Kisha" you know her, the homegirl you have that can never keep a man, but always has something negative to say about yours is corrupting your mind with all of her man bashing. Sistas, sometimes its you. It isn't always us. There are a TON of eligible, good brothas who are searching for their Bonita Applebaum. Give us a chance. Don't let "Jody's" messed up actions blow it for the next man, because sistas, you are missing out.
About the black man/white woman situation. I believe that as blacks, people of African descent, or whatever you want to be classified as, we should have a grasp on who we are before intermingling. Period.

It's another Monday morning that we're blessed to wake up, so let's make it a good one. I'm hittin' you with another episode of Shoe Game Vicious and I promise it's a good one. Also, be on the look out soon for some highlights from fashion week, as soon as I've had time to review what came down the runways in NY.
Today's shoe game vicious is for my ladies and I've got a double header for you.
First, Stella McCartney has a wooden wedge pump for the fall and it's looking like insanity on your feet. The construction of the shoe alone is enough to break necks, but check the specifics. It's a taupe patent pump with a wooden wedge heel that is approximately 5 inches and a 0.5 inch platform. It also has a pointed toe, a silver trim and a sculpted silver insert on back of heel. In case you didn't know, Stella never uses leather or fur in her shows as a part of her animal rights lifestyle, but judging by her collections in the past you'd never even miss the fur or leather with the chic designs she puts out.
Who's bold enough to step out in those bad boys????
Up next ladies, it's time to start getting those knee boots for the fall. Don't wait too late or you'll be wearing something 50 other girls have already bought and who wants to look like a marching band group? I hope you didn't raise your hand ! The boot I'm bringing your way is from Steve Madden and it's called "Foxey". It's a take on a Chanel boot that was on the runways, it mimics the cap toe in black patent leather but instead of a plain colored body of the boot, Steve Madden is doing a crisp caramel color with a black zipper up the back. The heel is a mere 2 1/2 inches but this boot is definitely a work staple and can be worn on the weekends for going out to lunch or hanging with your people. They are currently on sale at heels.com for $149.99, marked down from there original price of $198.99. Head on over and get these before they're all gone.

"Legendary French luxury goods house Louis Vuitton is re-launching its stylish City Guides for the travel book series' tenth anniversary, with a vintage-inspired look. The Guides, originally launched in 1999, contain the essential addresses of the most stylish locales in world cities. The current saffron yellow color scheme and minimal design is being changed to the brown of its signature monogram canvas, with colorful accents and patterns inspired by vintage Vuitton luggage labels.
The new 2009 Guides, which will feature editions for New York, Paris, Tokyo, Miami, Mumbai, and a boxed set of 32 European Cities, will go on sale starting October 15, Vogue UK reports. In addition, the revamped Guides will feature personal tips from the likes of Italian actress Monica Belluci on Rome and Barneys creative director Simon Doonan on New York."

Official Nasir Aleem Review of "The Family that Preys" by Tyler Perry
I went to see Tyler Perry's newest offering last night and I thought it was a decent movie. Usually, I don't support Madea, aka the new millenium minstrel act, but this movie had a decent plot line and some wild twists. I appreciate when Tyler Perry makes movies that place people who look like me in powerful and successful positions, but I also love the way his storylines show people chasing their dreams and not settling for less. People should enjoy this one.

Note to Women: Bring Something to the Table
Disclaimer: This post is NOT, I repeat NOT for the women who hold their own and don't look for handouts from a man. The lady who is willing to go to work for hers and not make a living on her back or on her knees. This post is for the following: Golddiggers, professional groupies, celebrity stalkers, chicks with no ambition of their own, and the ones who think what's between their legs is the key to success.
One of my fellow bloggers posted a great blog about men chasing women they can't afford. I don't believe in the theory and that is from personal experience. I consider myself to be a fashionable man, women tell me I'm attractive, and I have never had an issue meeting women, etc, etc, and I even have some of those great episodes in my resume. Needless to say, I wanted to address the flipside of the male/female situation.
Ladies, at times, seem to want a man who has the best credit, biggest house, and endless money, but I pose one question: What are you bringing to the table?
Is your credit in order, or is it maxed out on department store credit cards that you ran up to be in style?
Are you in a place of your own, or are you still at home with parents/friends/another man/too many roomates because you aren't responsible enough to be on your own?
How are your own finances? Do you have a bank account with more than a dream in it? Are you overdrawing the account every 3 days, robbing Peter to pay Paul and then robbing Peter the next day.
I ask these questions only because I get tired of the phenomenon of "A man better have this and that!!" What do you have?
True story: One night I was in my sportsbar in Northeast Philly and a group of females walked in. Each female was dressed to kill, Gucci this, Louie that and all of the guys were on their heels. *INSERT MEANINGLESS STUFF: bottle popping, dancing, people making it rain in the sportsbar, yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah* At the end of the night, the same girls who were the Belles of the Ball were hopping into a taxi cab, arguing over who was going to pay the tab. And I quote: "Ya'll bitches make me sick! We ain't meet nobody who was gonna take us home tonight and I came out of the house with $5." Wait!! This is the same girl just in the sportsbar with Gucci from head to toe, talking only to the guys she assumed had money. More than likely, she has nothing to bring to the table. What's wrong with this picture? For some people nothing. For the people with a drop of logic, please continue reading.
My complaint is this: Stop wanting the world when you have nothing to offer.
It's not about chasing what you can't afford, women stop thinking the world should be handed over in a Marc Jacobs bag. If you bring nothing to the table, what makes you REALISTICALLY think that you deserve anything from it?
One of my fellow bloggers posted a great blog about men chasing women they can't afford. I don't believe in the theory and that is from personal experience. I consider myself to be a fashionable man, women tell me I'm attractive, and I have never had an issue meeting women, etc, etc, and I even have some of those great episodes in my resume. Needless to say, I wanted to address the flipside of the male/female situation.
Ladies, at times, seem to want a man who has the best credit, biggest house, and endless money, but I pose one question: What are you bringing to the table?
Is your credit in order, or is it maxed out on department store credit cards that you ran up to be in style?
Are you in a place of your own, or are you still at home with parents/friends/another man/too many roomates because you aren't responsible enough to be on your own?
How are your own finances? Do you have a bank account with more than a dream in it? Are you overdrawing the account every 3 days, robbing Peter to pay Paul and then robbing Peter the next day.

New iPod Nano
Once again, Steve Jobs has done it again. Apple has released a new iPod Nano, full of new features and 9 colors. Features include: The Genius feature, which finds songs in your playlist that go together and makes them into a playlist for you. Cover flow allows you to view your album art and you can see more artists at once. iPod Nano now has games that are tailored for the Nano and they respond to your movements. For fun, give the new iPod a shake and you can get a random song played from your playlist.
